Vango’s Castlewood Air 800XL is all about accommodating up to 8 people while allowing each couple to have their own privacy. As the tent has two main bedrooms which can be divided into four thanks to a privacy curtain, you are able to create the sleeping space you desire. If you are a family of four and want a comfortable sleeping area for the parents then the same toggle divider can be removed to create a master bedroom. The Vis-à-vis style means that you should hopefully get a better night’s sleep with the kids/guests as far away as possible! The Airbeam structure not only provides a strong frame for the tent but it is also very easy to pitch. The whole tent can be put up by one person within 10 minutes, which makes it perfect for weekends as well as weeks away.

A central living area brings everyone together and because there are doors on both sides of the tent you can pick and choose which is your main entrance depending on what the weather is doing. The main doors also feature a mesh panel which can be covered by zipping up the privacy curtains allowing you the option to increase airflow without having to allow inspects to join the party. The doors can also double up to be a canopy by buying some king poles and pulling it out. If more space is required, then an optional TA003 side awning can be purchased and often creates an area to cook or clean off before entering your lovely new tent.

Vango have made a big improvement to their Sentinel fabric for the new season. This latest material has been dyed in a different method which not only increases the colour retention of the fabric but also the process uses 60% less water making it more eco-friendly. With a waterproof rating of 3,000mm HH, it is armoured with more than enough to cope with the typical British weather. The tent has key features such as dark ‘Nightfall bedrooms’, which enable you to have a longer and better night's sleep as you won’t be waking up when the sun does. Inside the bedroom there are also storage pockets to give you an easily accessible point for storing items like phones or torches so you can find them in the middle of the night. Other important features include cable entry points, privacy curtains, mesh windows internally and low-level panels externally; one of our favourite features is the drop-down doors. Unlike previous years Vango have added extra toggle points to the lip to decrease the chance of the wind from blowing through.

Overall, the Castlewood Air 800XL from Vango gives you everything you require for a camping holiday with the added bonus of sleeping plenty of people, regardless of how big your family is. That combined with the simplicity of setting it up, there isn’t a reason why you would choose anything else.
