Outdoor Revolution’s Outhouse Handi awning has been around for a number of years and still holds the title of the smallest driveaway awning on the market. Being small and compact is what this awning is all about. With a main body size of 2m x 2m it provides just enough room for a table & a couple chairs. The Handi is more commonly used as a connected storage tent with a front and rear door allowing access the main body from both inside and outside the van. The front door can also be doubled up as a canopy by purchasing some additional king poles (as seen in our review video).

Simple to pitch, the Outhouse can be erected by one person within 6 minutes. There are two fibreglass poles which cross over one another to give a good internal height. The poles are not only lightweight but have a pre-angle to give a boxier shape meaning that items can be put closer to the edges. Two side windows/vents and a roof vent allows air into the awning to help reduce condensation.  

There are two different sizes for attachment with the most popular one being for VW sized vans (Lowline = 180-210cm) and the taller size fits nicely to motorhomes and high-line camper vans (Midine = 210-255cm). There are multiple ways of attaching the awning to the van; a 4mm & 6mm Kador beading allows the awning to be fitted into any rails/windouts; a pole can be fed through a sleeve on the tunnel and then clamped into a gutter rail; or, simply, guylines can be thrown over the top of the vehicle and pegged to pull the fabric up to the van.

Overall the Outhouse Handi is a simple but effective solution to storage when on the move and due to its narrow 212cm tunnel it works well with Caddy Van!
