Driveaway awnings have never felt like this before! Brand new for the 2025 season, Dometic has unveiled their new Weathershield™ Tour ripstop polyester fabric in a big way. This is the driveaway model of Dometic's best-selling Rally Air awnings, featuring an expansive awning tunnel attached to the main body of the awning for complete versatility. They've nailed the feeling of a fixed caravan awning with the freedom of a driveaway model, allowing you to detach it from your vehicle and leave it in-situ until your return.

Don't be fooled however, this new awning has more than a fresh coat of paint. The all-new Weathershield™ Tour fabric features a rip-stop polyester thread woven into the fabric to help strengthen the material against sharp objects. The fabric is still premium at 300 denier, and has been treated with an increased waterproofing level for more consistent weather protection throughout. Additionally Dometic's use of dope-dyeing has vastly reduced the amount of water used in the dyeing process. As these fibres are dyed before they're spun the colour persists fully throughout the fabric, this reduces the visual effect of UV fading on the awning and keeps them looking good as new for longer!

This awning range features 3 sizes to match the porch awning counterpart: 260, 330, and 390cm models are available depending on your preference and the length of your vehicle's straight rail.

This process is helped by Dometic's Single Point Inflation airframe with tube-specific deflation points, reducing the amount of trapped air in the system when packing the awning away. One brilliant quality of life change for the new model is a Monsoon Pole for the tunnel section, this drastically reduces the amount of slack fabric in the tunnel which helps reduce wind noise and further reduces the risks of any damage occurring in high winds.

Dometic have adopted a "one size fits all" mentality with the Rally Air Tour DA awnings, with the tunnel section fitting vehicles from 220cm all the way up to 300cm! The main attachment method we recommend for speed and ease would be utilizing the included throwover straps and guying the other side of the motorhome, however there is also a 6mm kador bead found along the top edge of the tunnel which allows you to slide it neatly onto a rail (a fixing kit is recommended, and smaller 4mm fixing kits can be purchased if you need to attach this to a wind-out rail).
