How to get started

Step one: Register for the free Basic Membership at the Geocaching site. You can visit the “Hide & Seek a Cache” page where you can determine which ones are in the area that you’ll be staying in. You can enter your post code to discover Geocaches in your area.

Step two: Select a geocache to take the coordinates from. Enter these coordinates into your device. Use your GPS system to help you find the geocache.

Step three: Get searching! Look high, low, under and over things to find your selected Geocache. Once you have discovered what you’re looking for, open up the cache, sign the logbook, close it up and put it back where you found it for others to find it too!

Where are the Geocaches?

Fortunately, they are located all over the world, so wherever you’ve pitched your tent, you’ll be able to discover something to look for. Many geo-cachers will stash their cache in a location that has a special meaning to them.

It may be located at the end of a particularly long hike, at the highest point of an island or area or even underwater. Wherever they have been hidden, there is always room for adventure!
