We asked our staff: what’s your favourite outdoor adventure to date?
Here at Attwoolls Outdoors we’re your go-to place for everything you need for your outdoor adventures. So who better to ask about their favourite outdoor adventures than our staff!
Lost mountain biking in Forest of Dean
This outdoor adventure is close to home, but still memorable for one of our Sales team! She got lost mountain biking on one of the many trails in the Forest of Dean, but still had a great time. The Forest of Dean is home to some fabulous walking, cycling and mountain-biking trails, we’re lucky to be so close!
Pico Ruivo, Madeira
Another memorable moment was hiking to the top of Pico Ruivo. The views are spectacular, and it can only be reached on foot so it makes for an exciting trip with a great reward at the end! This is the highest mountain in Madeira and the coastal views are gorgeous.
Gold Duke of Edinburgh in Brecon and on Dartmoor
One staff member recalls her Gold Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, one where her and her team got lost in the Brecon Beacons (but found their way back on track!) and one where they were on Dartmoor in the middle of a heatwave and still managed to find a bog to fall in!
Riding downhill trails in Italy
Another mountain-biking excursion, this staff member’s most memorable outdoor adventure is when she was riding downhill trails in Italy! Certainly an exciting holiday, and something outdoorsy but a bit different to your standard hike.
Briksdal Glacier in Norway
The hike up to the Briksdal Glacier in Norway is just as gorgeous as the glacier itself, you have to walk over a bridge underneath a waterfall (and get soaked!) and then it’s a short uphill 5km hike to the glacier itself. Sadly it’s melting faster than it should be, but the glowing lake underneath is a real spectacle!
Yosemite Mirror Lake trail
This one is hard to beat! One of our staff members was hiking the Mirror Lake trail in Yosemite National Park in California and was lucky enough to see a black bear with its cubs.
East Coast Trail, Newfoundland
Another bucket list location, one of our staff members’ favourite memories is hiking part of the East Coast Trail in Canada! This trail is 336km long, and consists of 25 wilderness paths. You can spot moose, foxes and coyotes and can even spot whales during some summer months!
Zip wiring in the Lake District
Something a bit different but certainly memorable, one of our team members favourite outdoor memory is zip wiring along the 3km cable in the Lake District! Certainly, a different way to experience the Lakes, but memorable nonetheless. Slightly closer to home too!
